|call divert service|
To complete your service, Callagenix offers you a range of number types to suit your business activity.
This number is used normally as a sales or free information line where the caller pays nothing and you the person being called (whoever owns the number) pay all the call charges. The numbers normally begin with either 0800 or 0808.
local rate number (0845)
This number can be used as a general contact number where your target audience would feel more comfortable paying only a local rate charge. The caller pays their local rate charge (regardless of where they are situated in the UK) and the person being called (whoever owns the number) pays for the balance of any call charges. The caller has no way of knowing where you are geographically situated and the numbers normally begin with 0845.
national rate number (0870)
This number can also be used as a general contact number. Your target audience pays their national rate charge (regardless of where they are situated in the UK) and the person being called (whoever owns the number) pays nothing to subsidise the cost of the calls. The caller has no way of knowing where you are geographically situated and the numbers normally begin with 0870.
Available shortly from Callagenix these numbers can be attached to a service and used to either entirely fund the cost of the service or even generate revenue. The caller pays 10p per minute.
Regional numbers are available for a number of UK cities and consist of the standard trunk dialling telephone numbers made up from an area code followed by a six- or seven-digit number (e.g. 0207 1234567). These can be used by the Callagenix system as an access number for their services in a similar manner to the non-geographic numbers (freephone, local, national and premium rate).
premium rate numbers (090x)
These numbers are really a revenue generation method for payment for small value services. The caller pays a charge of between 10p per minute to £1.50 per minute (regardless of where they are situated in the UK and dependent upon the type of service they are calling) the person being called (whoever owns the number) gets paid a percentage of the revenues generated by that number. They normally begin with 090x and are dependent on their value. The services are regulated by ICSTIS and some require their prior approval.
why do Callagenix not use personal (07000) numbers?
The services from Callagenix offer greater functionality and capabilities than the divert functions personal numbers offer, and we use the more comfortable freephone, national, regional and local rate numbers.
Basically, you get a number from Callagenix, attach your service to it and then divert your existing telephone number to the new Callagenix number. That's it!
This works if your published number is a normal geographic exchange number (e.g. 01628 484214) then you can arrange to have this diverted to the Callagenix number of your choice (we would currently recomend the use of a Regional number for this purpose). You will need to contact your telephone service supplier to do this. The process for BT is outlined below.
BT Call Diversion
For customers who do not wish to change their current telephone number but still wish to take advantage of all the services offered by Callagenix, you can arrange for BT to divert your current number to your new Callagenix number. There are two ways to do this:
You need to do this as BT will check who you are and that the number you wish to have diverted is yours. Once the divert has been set up, the following instructions are used to control this service. (NB. BT can take up to four hours to do this).
To divert all calls to your existing number to your Callagenix
To divert calls to your existing number when busy to your Callagenix
To divert calls to your existing number when not answered within
15 seconds to your Callagenix number:
You can check your existing BT call diversion state by:
To turn the divert off and receive calls directly to your old
number (Not the Callagenix Number):
Charges: BT currently charges £4.50 per quarter for this service, you also are liable for the cost of the BT diverted call
